01Origin

Started inside a production plant

DDI was founded in 1996 by a group of people specialized in automating and maintaining production processes. Its founder, Álvaro Velásquez Gallo, is a mechanical engineer.

For its first year, the company worked inside the plant of Compañía de Galletas Noel. It then moved to the Incubadora de Empresas de Base Tecnológica de Antioquia, a technology business incubator, before setting up on its own.

Nearly 30 years later, DDI works from its own workshop in Envigado, where an in-house team designs, builds and wires machines, control panels and plant control systems.

03Scope

What DDI does

DDI provides engineering solutions in automation and control. It designs, builds and integrates electromechanical systems and finished machines, with specialized software for supervision, operation and data acquisition, and supports them on site and remotely.
