Automatic screw capper

An automatic screw capper for processes that require capping to a set torque. It adapts to different cap formats without changing the gripper, and is built to each customer’s line, container and torque requirement.

01Point-by-point inspection

What the machine is built from

Four points of the capper; those visible on DDI’s design render are marked on it.

  1. The capping head tightens each cap to the torque the process requires.

  2. The capper adapts to different cap formats without changing the gripper.

  3. The machine is operated from a Rockwell touchscreen operator panel.

  4. Stainless-steel structure; supports and guides in polyamide and stainless steel; stainless-steel screws and nuts.

02Capping principle

Torque, not force

Each cap is tightened to a set torque, not just pressed on. When the cap format changes, the capper adapts without a gripper change.

Capping, between filling and labeling

In a DDI complete line, the screw capper closes each container after filling and before labeling. It is also built as a standalone machine to fit an existing line, as in DDI’s 2026 capper project.
